Vivi Fitriani

Vivi Fitriani is from Bandung, Indonesia and brought up in Rochester, New York . Her artwork includes cultural influences from Indonesia and America. Fitriani is currently an MFA candidate at CSU Long Beach. A piece of artwork Fitriani did called Garden Grove Blvd and Brookhurst St. deals with effect of displacement. By moving images and the usage of space in urban areas the viewer may feel slightly disoriented from watching it as I did. The artwork is seen below.

The viewer may also feel as if they are standing still while objects are moving around them.

The two main components that are used in Fitriani's artworks are motions and space using a variety of subjects such as domesticity, religion, and eggs.

Will Luers

Will Luers lives in Portland, Oregon. The type of work Luers does is montages or combining multiple images together to make a single sequence. Luers gets his inspiration from different cycles in nature. For example, seasons, traditions, the movement of water, or transportation. Luers explores to see if a certain cycle in nature is the same everytime. Therefore, in his artwork, the message he might be trying to show is the changes of a linear and other types of sequences.
